Waigaoqiao Delivered the Fourth 119,000 Dwt Aframax Tanker to Bocom Leasing, a Major Chinese Ship Owner

On November 16th, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding delivered the fourth 119,000 DWT Aframax LNG product tanker “PROTEUS STEPHANIE” to BOCOM Leasing.

This year, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding has delivered seventeen ships and three million tons of offshore equipment. They have completed the annual delivery target one and a half months ahead of schedule.

“Proteus” was independently developed and designed by Waigaoqiao. It has a total length of 249.95 meters, a width of 44 meters, a depth of 21.4 meters, a design draft of 13.5 meters, and a load capacity of 119,000 dwt. It is also classified into the LR and CCS categories.

PROTEUS STEPHANIE is the sixth dual-fuel ship built by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding since this year. There are still 8 ships under construction at the shipyard.

As a result of the high regulation on carbon emissions, many shipyards have been in search of greener methods to build ships and reduce their emissions levels.
